Linwood CDJR may call Paducah, Kentucky our home but we feel just as close to the cities that sit adjacent to us along the Ohio River, including Calvert City, Kentucky. This town was incorporated in 1871 around a railroad station established by the city's eponym, Potilla Willis Calvert. Today, Calvert City is a cozy place with a friendly population, one that we're happy to be serving at Linwood CDJR.

If you're planning to pass through Calvert City-or if you're a current resident-there's much to see and enjoy. In fact, it's likely you'll pass by Calvert City if you're traveling to or from Nashville or St. Louis. It's situated between the two bustling cities, along Interstate 24.

In the city of Calvert City, you'll find an array of fun attractions. The Calvert Drive-In Theater is a classic outing on a summer night and serves delicious cheeseburgers for dinner. Maggie's Jungle Golf & Jungle Run, a charming putt-putt course, offers another great summer activity. For live entertainment, there's the Badgett Playhouse just down the street in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Their ever-changing schedule brings live music and local theatre. A dinner theater at Badgett Playhouse serves as a perfect date night or outing with friends.   

Calvert City is just a short drive from Shawnee National Forest and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Both of these locations are excellent places for outdoor enthusiasts. Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is a 170,000-acre between Kentucky & Barkley lakes where visitors can hike, camp, or participate in water activities like paddling or fishing. Shawnee National Forest offers its own lakes for swimming, as well as plenty of hiking trails, camping grounds, and rock climbing.
